WHERE IT ALL STARTED

In 2011 after receiving an Eid present in discounted old Christmas gift wrap, it became obvious that there was a need for accessories specific for the Ramadan and Eid holidays BUT without falling into cultural stereotypes. Back then it was a stark landscape that we helped refine into one that celebrates American Muslim modernity. 

We wanted to get children (and grown-ups) excited about the holidays and encourage families to start new traditions with products that were specific for them done in a modern way. Hence modernEID was born! We set out to create products that live up to the goal: 

"THE place for stylish goodies for ALL celebrations. Nothing tacky. We promise".

    We think HOW & WHERE products are made MATTERS. We pride ourselves on making goods ethically and responsibly, using local suppliers and family-owned businesses as our production partners. After seeing much of our work counterfeited online, as of 2018, we do NOT source our products from China.

MEET THE OWNER

Hey there, I’m Jomana and I'm a graphic & product designer who's been designing stationery since 2003. It was my love for modern unique design that prompted me to bring my style to products for Ramadan and Eid when I started modernEID in 2011.

I wanted to help create Ramadan/Eid traditions that were inclusive for people from all cultural backgrounds, not just for my generation but for the future generations to come. This initial motivation has now blossomed into a company that celebrates the modern home and all celebrations no matter the occasion.
